Only got 4 runs in but they were great ones (The Pines, The Aspens, The Aspens, Ecstasy). About 20 inches over the last week has made a huge difference, and we're expected to get another 20+ more over the next few days. Woods are skiing absolutely fantastic! And I saw moose (2) in the snowfall today!

Good skiing again on 2/5 but I'm getting bored. Was planning to ski again today but bagged it. We need snow.

Great spring like day at Black. First day they were able to get the summit double running which was a bonus. Definitely going to need some snow as it’s getting pretty thin in a bunch spots but had a blast. Main lot was full which was good to see.

23. Feb. 11, 2024 Burnt Meadow

Went out for a few laps at the recently reclaimed trails from the former Burnt Meadow ski area in Brownfield, ME. There’s about 5 runs/glades plus the skin track up the TBar line and a small cabin at the base of the TBar. Pretty cool and appreciate the effort the group in charge is doing for this place.

Hit Loon Thursday and Sunday River Friday and Saturday.

Parked really close to the gondola getting to loon mid morning when a car pulled out. We were at SR before the lifts started both days and parked in the south ridge lot.

Those new bubble lifts (kancamangus, barker, jordan) really fly. Lines backed up at SR from 11-1 both days but we took the singles line on the bubbles, and most lifts had short waits.

The natural trails were a mess both places but they do a great job snowmaking. Saw the massive uphill water pipes (20inch?) at the top on one of the lifts at sr.

Something I noticed at sr, and never noticed at Stratton, was accompanying under age 7 ski school kids on the South Ridge lift. We took several and the coaches seem to ask anyone in the line when they were heading up. We looked at the ski school disclosures and it’s kinda vague about coaches with young kids on the lifts.

Not likely to get back there this season, but definitely looking forward to doing this again next year.

Another good day at Belle on 2/8. Went to Greek Peak on 2/11 and met up with my middle son Peter and his gf Karolynn. She was a never ever but in about 3 hours we had her linking turns with confidence and riding the chairlift. She admitted she was surprised at how quickly she picked things up. After lunch we skied 3 runs on the beginner area chair and she did great. I liked the beginner area set up at Greek. I also realize how spoiled I am skiing at Belleayre where they make tons of snow. I got to ski with Peter for a few runs at the end of the day and Greek needs snow (like the rest of the east)!

Another lovely day today, zero lines. Once again I saw the Over And Out moose as I call them. Supposed to get about 6 inches tomorrow.

Belle made a ton of snow all over the ridge. They refreshed bumps top to bottom on several trails. Whales and mounds of snow everywhere. With a 2" refresher here and a 2" refresher there it was a great 2 days of skiing bumps with soft snow.

Had been hoping to ski more this winter, but my wife is having major health issues, so getting out is tough.

Glad to see I'm up there with some of the hard cores. Yesterday was day 34 for me and hopefully 35 tomorrow. Just came off what was the best week of the season here locally in the Pocono's, after that storm where the Pocono's were actually the winners.
7 days since the 14th, mountain 100 percent open, some decent weather and a nice mixture of cord and bumps.

Oh yea and one morning of 1 1/2 inch surface reconditioning by mother nature. It was fun.

Great 3 days in VT this week. Sunny and bluebird but very cold first 2 days at K then Stowe. Last day at K started out sunny but got cloudy around mid-day and temps warmed up a bit. Plenty of firm snow and ice the first 2 days, things softened up my last day on Thursday. Thanks to kingslug for the place to sleep Tuesday night and for being the tour guide on Wednesday. I once said I would never ski at Stowe again after Vail bought them. That turned out to be a lie. With the free place to sleep and the Epic buddy ticket that was a pretty good deal!

I know kingslug already posted this pic but it is my season's favorite so here we go again:
