Who expected one of the better snow cycles of the season to happen the first week of April? Had a good stretch of skiing the second half of March and was patting myself on the back for my good timing since I had a bunch of commitments the first week of April and wouldn't be skiing. So of course this strange and mostly crappy season of 23-24 had to get another kick in the balls in before it's over.
My consolation was a day at Belleayre on 4/5. No 24" of snow there but it did snow for a few days and they got about 10" for the week. Coverage was top to bottom and side to side everywhere. No bare spots at all. Lower angle naturals were nice. Trees bony but all the snowmaking trails and the bumps were awesome.
It was Mike's first and last day of the season. Turned out to be a great day and we skied from bell to bell. Heading back tomorrow for closing day.
