Do you earn turns after the lifts close?

I never have in the past. For me, it's mostly a geography limitation. When areas that are close enough to me for turn earning close for the season, there's usually still some lift-serviced to be had. By the time all or most of the lifts are shut down, most of the snow at the local hills is gone.

This year may be different. I think there will be skiable snow at Sundown well into April so I may make a few jaunts there next month. I may even hike Hunter in May depending on what they hold on to, but who knows. I'd like to keep lift-serviced skiing at least until April 15 this year. Hard to believe that's less than 4 weeks away...:(

The Ty/Dork family certainly aren't stopped by closed lifts. We decide when the season is over.

I'm going to give it a try this year. Besides the ability to extend my season, I'm looking forward to the work-out associated with hiking up hill with my boards strapped to my back.

its the best time of year - warm air hikes in you t shirt, no crowds, great corn snow to ski, and the beer doesn't freeze when you open it

we will usually ski till the second week of may - then hang em up and return to other non snow related activities till october

Yes I have.....but with my new pack, 8000s, and lighter Arc Tery'x Spring-shell....it'll be much more enjoyable this year.

Similar situation here. I picked up light weight Columbia shell and the Camelbak Menace.

What are the rules for this...I mean I imagine that if i pulled into a parking lot for a ski area dn just walked up - even if it was state owned like belleayre - they might get a little mad because of liabilty issues--

If I was an hour drive from 1000 feet of vertical I'd do it. 2 hour drive from the Catskills for a couple of hundred of leftover? Nope. Thoughts of my mountain bike are already creeping into my mind...

Oh my god. That is so funny. I damn near crapped my pants I laughed so hard. I don't know what's funnier the nuance of the joke, the levels it works on or the pure genius of the observation. Sorry I thought about whether a ski resort would want people on their land when they closed the mountain doing something dangerous. God. How insane. I mean it's not like THERE IS A WAIVER ON YOUR LIFT TICKET that covers their liability while you are on their property.
TIME to continue laughing.
