Would somebody give me the specifics on the Maine pass, or a link to where they're offered.

TIA.

I think this season, it will just be an employee pass. Looks like more sledhauling and less free skiing this season. The question now is where...

GORE-WHITEFACE, full- $625.00. this makes20 years in a row maybe 30 all together. maybe not the greatest places, but just too close and cheap to pass up. average 70 to 80 days a year, most ever 101.

1st time in 3 years I am going without a pass. I just couldn't justify spending $635 on the blackout Killington pass. There are too many blackout days (that I most likely will want to ski) and it would have taken too many days for me to break even.

Last 3 seasons I was averaging about 20 days at Killington on my bronze ASC pass and 2or 3 of those days usually came after the April 15th schedualed closing day.

So I am going without a pass and plan to ski more days at other mountains around the area.

Bad news for Killington but good news for Okemo, Sugarbush and other resorts who will probably see more of my business.

Also probably will ski more at Hunter (which is a way shorter drive for me). Last season was the 1st in a long time that I didnt have a Big Lift Card or ski at Hunter. This year I am definately buying one and plan to ski there.

A Killington Pass with no blackout dates is $1,149??? wtf.. Last season I had the Threedom Pass with blackout dates, but found I skied several of those blackout days. Still not really sure what to do....

looks like touring bindings and skins for the family for xmas!

Drive by pot stirring!!

This is what blows me away...and I'm not getting on the authors at all, it's just a symptom of a bigger problem for ski areas. To me, for a mountain of Killington's size, $1150 for an unlimited pass is quite reasonable. I pay $750 for a Hunter pass which I think is also very fair. I'd pay the extra $400 for the added terrain Killington provides.

Without question.

But that attitude is obviously out of step with the times. DEVO is blown away by the $1150 pass. And nycskier won't even buy a pass (with blackout dates) for $635! To me, it's weird.

To put it in perspective, 20 years ago you spent roughly twice what you paid for new ski equipment to buy a season pass. Today, people turn green and retire from skiing if a pass costs $1000, but alot of skiers (not here) wouldn't blink about paying $1000 for new skis, bindings, and poles.

Quite a contrast.

I think it's largely a result of ASC gasping for increased skier visits to boost the sale prices of it's resorts with the bargain basement pass prices of the last several years.

For me, it's a combination of fuel costs and increased pass prices.

Remember, my favorite flavor is free
