Finishing up my second season. Why oh why didn't I try this when I was younger than mid 30's? Been about 40 times. Totally hooked. Thought I was getting decent 'til I watched a video of myself skiing. Not pretty. Achieved my goal of skiing blues at Cannon and Wildcat this year. Hope to get out at least one more time -- still have free tickets to Stratton! Maybe Sunday.

Started 2000-2001 so I'm wrapping up my 7th season.
that still blows my mind. for those who haven't had the pleasure of skiing with from_the_NEK, you'd never know he hasn't been skiing for 20 years.

for myself, i first got on skis around age 4 or 5, so i have been skiing for approximately 23 years. though i am only about half a dozen years into my "breakout" years and working on my third year of complete dedication to the activity.

I started at 3. I am now 39. Been addicted since day 1. When I was a kid, back in the day before internet, when you could only get a snow.ski report in newspapers on thursdays...I memorized every area in the northeast that had 800 numbers for their snow reports.

Learned at the Mighty, Mighty Powder Ridge when I was about 11. Skied until I was 14. (Varsity Wrestling and Swimming left no time)
Took a 20-ish year hiatus, this was my third season since my triumphant return.
Now it looks like there will be another (much shorter) haitus again...

This is my 39th year skiing. Been doing it since I was 4 years old. I'm 43 now. I took about 6 years off when my children were young & I was in grad school. Now the whole family skis.

I'm more obsessed with skiing now than I ever have been. I always took it for granted when I was younger. What's that saying: "Youth is wasted on the young"?

Started at the age of 13, skied frequently through high school and college (at least when I had funds in college). Took 6 years off due to kids and work. Finally took my daughter skiing for her first time when she was 6. For the past 3 years (I'm 35), actively skiing with the kids.

The things we do with and for our kids...

I got into two activities, Skiing and Martial Arts, with my son. Unfortunately he didn't keep with the Martial Arts (I'm still at it after 7+ years) but he stuck with the skiing...still beats me down the mountain all the time.

Same here. My wife grew up skiing and always wanted me to try it. I told her if we ever have kids I'll learn.

Skied my first day at Lost Valley in 1977 when I was three. So i've been skiing 29 years and I'm still not any good, but I love it.

This is my first year. I'm 43, and I really wanted my kids to at least try all the things I never did growing up, so I got us all started.
I regret waiting so long, because while I love it, I feel like I've only got one more season before my kids, 11, 8 and 5, blow the old man away.
