Hey All,

Now the days are getting shorter and the 08-09 ski/ride season is approaching. Only 4 more months until the northern resorts start getting dusted with natural snow and they blow the mice out of the snowguns. Until then I just have to enjoy all the steezy aspects of life..none of which are mad steezy like skiing.

Listening to Kanye West and Too Short parking lot pimping at the local Walgreens or Target is steezy but not as steezy as skiing.

Hitting the perfect golf shot is steezy but not as steezy as skiing an icy poconos run.

Getting your swerve on with a hot young lady is steezy and sometimes skeezy but not as steezy as skiing light and dry powder.

Eating Italian ice on a hot day is steezy but not as steezy as skiing snow the consistancy of Italian ice...mad applesauce yo..on a mild March day.

Posting an I miss skiing thread is steezy...well actually kind of lame..oh well I'd rather be posting a trip report..

Only several more months until ski season.. ohmy.gif

Now that summer solstice is past, it's time to make the winter preps.
- Storm windows down/in
- take out all the annuals
- mothball the lawn mower
- wax the skis (again)
- get the snow tires prepped
- put the snow brush back in the car
- gloves and hat in the trunk
- snow shovel by the door

I think I'm all set...

Mountain biking

There's not much that's as steezy as skiing, but man oh man, am I psyched to have rediscovered mountain biking this summer. I suck so I'm still riding up the steep learning curve which is a major blast. Plus a few of my AZ ski buds ride so its been truly radical getting out and riding with them. I'm normally ready to jump off a bridge this time of year, but lately, I've been thinking about MTB waaaaaay more than skiing. I think I might have even skipped a day or two of having any skiing-related thoughts recently. Gasp!

Where are you?

I miss chairlifts. I like hiking for turns but have really come appreciate even the slowest of lifts in the last month.

Hmm. You never know. Can I use my 2007-08 season pass? ;) Tough to travel too far for MTB though. Tons of rad stuff close by.

Glad you're enjoying the bike Greg

....but tone down the enthusiasm a notch. You're starting to sound a bit like the turn earners back in May rubbing it in on us who are jonesing for turns

It's worth a trip.. Take it up a notch.. I'm sure a connected guy like you can get a pass and write about it on the website...

I may be in East Hartford in August.. Bringing my bike..

Yeah, I miss it. The last couple of weeks I had two skiing dreams, haven't had one in a while before these last two. Over the last 4 days I saw Sundown as I was departing Bradley airport and I was wishing the trails were white, and I saw Xanadu multiple times flying into Newark, and wished it was open. Definitely missing it.

140 days until season start (November 15)...but who's counting?

This is the first summer I've actually had dreams about skiing. I'm up to one dream about snow, one about cold weather, and one legit skiing dream.

Biking, Golf and Rollerblading almost fill the void where lack of snow and skiing leaves me feeling empty.
Right now, my golf game is improving which has me stoked, and I'm working on a SS Mt bike, which has me stoked. That helps take the edge off my dreams of a blanket of white.

Ask me if I'd drop the clubs and bike, to head to Hood or Whistler if given half a chance? Youbetcha!!!

Skiing is always on my mind it seems.

So I stick to talking about fishing, hiking, and camping in the summer.

And that's all I have to say about that.
